Technical Glitches Plagued Yesterday's 'American Idol' Online Press Conference
It's been reported that yesterday's live streaming 'American Idol' press conference was beset by technical glitches that at times prevented it from being seen or heard online.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, complaints started surfacing not long after the live stream was launched, and fans turned to social networking sites like Twitter to vent their frustration. The press conference was supposed to be shown via the show's offical website and its Facebook page as well as via UStream.TV.
However, UStream.TV remained offline the entire time and In some instances, Web users who visited any of the show's pages were hit with error messages that did not show a video stream. Other users reported video streams that worked, but without audio through most, if not all, of the fifteen-minute announcement.
Announcing that the press conference is being rebroadcast online, a Fox spokeswoman acknowledged that, "We experienced some technical difficulties during the live judges' reveal." A UStream spokeswoman said, "Our users are extremely important to us and so is their experience. The 'American Idol' show is being re-aired and we are working with Fox to determine what happened to the live show."
The press conference was hosted by Ryan Seacrest and unveiled the hotly anticipated new judging panel for the tenth season of 'American Idol': Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson.
