The furry red Muppet appeared on 'Good Morning America' to address the recent controversy over Katy Perry's 'Sesame Street' guest appearance on the children's show. When her 'Hot 'N Cold' duet with Elmo was released on YouTube, some viewers complained about her cleavage and the segment was cut from the TV broadcast.

"We'll have another [play date]. Elmo loves Ms. Katy and we had a good time," Elmo said. "So we'll have another play date! Yes Miss Katy, come, come, come, come -- we'll have another play date!"

'Sesame Street' executive producer Carol Lynn Parente told 'GMA' that during filming, nobody thought Perry's dress was inappropriate. She also said that parents were "very split" over Perry's appearance.

Meanwhile, Perry doesn't seem to hold a grudge. On Twitter, she wrote, "Wow, looks like my play date with Elmo has been cut short! If you still wanna play see it at www.katyperry.com. Tag you're it, Elmo!"

Perry's fiance, Russell Brand, couldn't resist making a joke out of the situation, tweeting, "Today's Sesame Street will NOT be brought to you by the number 34 or the letter D."

Perry's duet with Elmo is still available online to watch.

I think the problem is that these women didn't play "dress up" when they were that age. Sorrry, but this video is TOTALLY age-appropriate for the audience, unlike A LOT of other Disney productions.

Unreal. Cmon people she looks like she has pasties on! This is a young kids show trying to push a progressive agenda. The death of common sense as we know it.

The devil has us already. Now he wants our children and from what I see on these posts we're more than happy to hand them over. We have to be vigilant as parents to guard our children from even mild attacks. Just because we've seen worse still doesn't excuse the fact that Katy is a little underdressed for a kids show. Some of you better start paying attention to the videos and cartoons your kids are watching. Its a war for our childrens minds and the devil has the best weapon in the world. Television.

The same ones condoning this garbage are the same ones who paint their kids with make-up and promote baby lingerie. Thank goodness there are some parents out there who aren't so desensitized that they know titties on a show for kids is not good. Why in the hell would you put that on knowing you're about to be on a kids show?

You're logic is as ridiculous as her outfit. How many under 5 year olds REMEMBER breast feeding? Try harder next time to make sense. Katy needs to sing with Oscar because HE LOVES TRASH!

No wonder kids are sexting and pregnant by the ripe old age of 13. But this is what Americans want!! Freedom of everything. No wonder other nations hate us.

The title is inaccurate.
I don't hear Elmo making any comments about the way she was dressed. Just another way to get you to watch the video.

Was it inappropriate for adults? No. For children. Maybe. If you are going to produce a children's show you have to be cognizant of your audience. Many of you are more upset than Ms. Perry. What's up with that? You say the parents shouldn't be uptight. Unless you are willing to let those parents decide what is appropriate for YOUR children what in the world are you doing trying tell them what is appropriate for THEIRS?
