"The Situation" Tries to Avoid Getting Kicked Off 'Dancing With the Stars' (VIDEO)

'The Situation' Tries to Avoid Getting Kicked Off 'Dancing With the Stars'It seems that a situation is happening. Mike Sorrentino -- now and forevermore known as "The Situation" -- has been having a rough first week on 'Dancing With the Stars.' He landed in a three-way tie for last place, and even though David Hasselhoff was the first contestant kicked off the show, Mike could be the next one eliminated.

On 'Lopez Tonight' (weeknights, 11PM ET on TBS), Sorrentino and his partner Karina Smirnoff showed up to discuss 'DWTS.' And Karina admitted that even she had her doubts about being paired up with the 'Jersey Shore' ab-master. "I'll be honest; when I heard Mike was my partner, I kind of freaked out," she said.

But, according to Karina, she soon had a change of heart. She told George Lopez that Mike is "sweet, respectful ... honestly amazing." Really? Could this be true? The man who refers to ugly girls as "grenades" and who has been accused of being willing to "bang a Gatorade bottle" is actually a sweet, respectful guy? Somehow, this seems doubtful.

Or maybe Smirnoff was doing a little shilling so that she doesn't get booted from 'DWTS' along with Mike. During his time on 'Lopez,' "The Situation" also took some time to suck up to his fans, who will have a chance to vote and save him from elimination.

Sorrentino said: "I am blessed to have some awesome fans out there. ... Other people have the wrong idea about me." He also revealed his nickname for his legion of supporters. Are you ready? He calls them "The Situation Nation." Catchy!

Mike has recently been resorting to Twitter in attempt to beg for votes. But it remains to be seen if he can manage to stay on 'DWTS.' One thing is clear, though. If he is kicked off, he'll have a lot more time for G.T.L.

I never heard of this guy before DWTS, but I'm already sick to death of him flaunting his abs! Never mind that he can't dance! And more rehearsal time won't change anything. He needs to go. WAAAY too much ego!

Sorry, Sarah Palin's daughter, although sweet and shy, hasn't exactly been the poster child of good moral standing. Yes, she's made a mistake, is caring for her child and has the platform to advocate for the prevention of unprotected sex and pregnancy, do you vote her off due to her error in judgement, that she's tried to rectify this, but is a loving mother and wants a better life for her and her child, with the support of her mother too! Judge these contestants on their talent in competing on this show, not what you feel about them or judging them for, let them have a chance!

Mike"Situation" Sorrentino; although acting the part on Jersey Shore, is actually respectful to his fellow DWTS's co-dancers and partner. He is stronger than quite a few that would be kept on the show for the respect of their age and celebracy! He is much more a better dancer than Hausselhoff or Bolton and a few others! This is a dance competition, not a personality contest, Mike and his fellow dance contestants should be judged on their talents, not whom they are or status of celebracy! He needs to build up more confidence and enjoy himself, I am sure he'll be terrific! Give him a chance to prove himself!

I love Jersey Shore and I love "The Situation."
I do think Jersey Shore is an adult show and younger children should NOT be allowed to view it; however, DWTS is a family show and I don't think that the celebrities should be judged on their public or personal life (even though I know they are). They should be judged on their dancing ability. I do think "The Situation" definitely has some moves in store for us although, I did notice, he is quite pigeon-toed. If he could avoid tripping over his own two feet, I think he could win.
Steve O. from Jackass was on a past season of DWTS as was Lawrence Taylor. Look at their backgrounds. Lil' Kim was on DWTS and she was in a federal penitentiary. I could go on and on about people who have been on DWTS: Pamela Anderson (porno queen), Shannon Daughtery (public menace and celebrity troublemaker). The list could go on and on. All of our celebrities can't have a background like our Florence Henderson's squeaky-clean portrayal of Carol Brady. I'm sure Ms. Henderson has some skeleton's in her closet (as did Mr. Brady). Oh and by the way, did you hear the language Florence Henderson used? She was bleeped more than a pulse oximeter.
Judge these celeb's on their dancing abilty, not if you agree or disagree with whom they are.

How's this? His dancing ability is non-existent. He MAY last as long as Jerre Springer or Jackass guy, but I doubt it. He SHOULD be next to go!

This fool showed as much arrogance as the Hoff, who was booted off first. I hope The Situation is the next to go. He is too pompous and does not dance well, just likes to shake his booty. He is disgusting.

Hey Concerned Mom, Is Kate Gosselin your role model?Did you let you children watch DWTS when Jerry Springer was on? Ever see his show? Did you know Brooke Burke (the host), Kim Kardashian, Holly Madison, Denise Richards and Pamela Anderson have all appeared in Playboy? How about Kelly Osbourne? Ever see the reality show she was in with her parents and brother? I think you had better switch over to PBS if you are that overly protective. You may want to shield your children's eyes as you may not approve of the risque clothing involved in ballroom dancing! LOL!
