"The Situation" Tries to Avoid Getting Kicked Off 'Dancing With the Stars' (VIDEO)
It seems that a situation is happening. Mike Sorrentino -- now and forevermore known as "The Situation" -- has been having a rough first week on 'Dancing With the Stars.' He landed in a three-way tie for last place, and even though David Hasselhoff was the first contestant kicked off the show, Mike could be the next one eliminated. On 'Lopez Tonight' (weeknights, 11PM ET on TBS), Sorrentino and his partner Karina Smirnoff showed up to discuss 'DWTS.' And Karina admitted that even she had her doubts about being paired up with the 'Jersey Shore' ab-master. "I'll be honest; when I heard Mike was my partner, I kind of freaked out," she said.
But, according to Karina, she soon had a change of heart. She told George Lopez that Mike is "sweet, respectful ... honestly amazing." Really? Could this be true? The man who refers to ugly girls as "grenades" and who has been accused of being willing to "bang a Gatorade bottle" is actually a sweet, respectful guy? Somehow, this seems doubtful.
Or maybe Smirnoff was doing a little shilling so that she doesn't get booted from 'DWTS' along with Mike. During his time on 'Lopez,' "The Situation" also took some time to suck up to his fans, who will have a chance to vote and save him from elimination.
Sorrentino said: "I am blessed to have some awesome fans out there. ... Other people have the wrong idea about me." He also revealed his nickname for his legion of supporters. Are you ready? He calls them "The Situation Nation." Catchy!
Mike has recently been resorting to Twitter in attempt to beg for votes. But it remains to be seen if he can manage to stay on 'DWTS.' One thing is clear, though. If he is kicked off, he'll have a lot more time for G.T.L.
