What to Watch: September 27 - October 3

by Stephanie Earp, posted Sep 27th 2010 2:25AM

Dead Set - Sunday October 3, 10PM ET, Space

This BAFTA-nominated British zombie series makes its North American debut tonight -- and with five episodes, that means it'll finish up on Halloween. The Brits really are the best at keeping zombie stories fresh -- no pun intended. This one takes place on the fictional set of a new cycle of 'Big Brother UK,' where cocooned in the safety of the house, the contestants are blissfully unaware of the horrific events unfolding outside. As eviction night looms, Britain is in the grip of an apocalyptic crisis where fast-moving hordes of the undead decimate the studio compound and the rest of the country. Awesome.

Also This Week:

Glee - Tuesday September 28, 8PM ET/PT, Global /Fox

As inevitable as a Greek tragedy, so arrives the Britney Spears episode of 'Glee,' though earlier than I had supposed. I would have thought they'd save it for sweeps. Brittany the character tries to convince Mr. Shue to let them sing Britney the artist (who actually guest stars). This is what passes for an A-plot on 'Glee.' Meanwhile, Emma's got a new beau, played by John Stamos, who is a dentist. I can't decide if that's a germaphobe's dream -- or nightmare.

America's Next Top Model - Wednesday September 29, 8PM ET/PT, A/CW

The only thing better than the 'ANTM' makeover episode? Okay, you're right, the nude photo shoot episode. But after that? The underwater shoot! Tonight the remaining would-be CW cameo actresses are posing underwater for photog Matthew Rolston.

Law & Order: Los Angeles - Wednesday September 29, 10PM ET/PT, CTV/CBS

I never expected to root for yet another addition to the 'L&O' franchise, but no one told me that genius Dick Wolf would cast Skeet Ulrich as one half of the latest 'L&O' partnership. I will, for some reason, follow Skeet anywhere. He's like... one of my pet actors or something. Usually I feel vaguely sorry for the guy, that things didn't work out better, career-wise. I guess I can stop feeling that way now.
