Guillermo del Toro -- the writer/director behind Oscar-winner 'Pan's Labyrinth' -- gave Craig Ferguson some scoop on his latest project, an adaptation of H. P. Lovecraft's horror 'At the Mountains of Madness.' On 'The Late Late Show' (weeknights, 12:37AM ET on CBS), del Toro said, "We're creating creatures and monsters unlike anything you've ever seen." The director added that even Dennis Muren (a special effects master at George Lucas' Industrial Light and Magic) told him, "'Do you realize nobody has ever seen monsters like this, ever?'" It was a high compliment for the self-described "fat geek."
"You're so hard on yourself!" countered Ferguson. "You do the wonderful movies, you win the Oscars, you do the books [like 'The Fall'] about proper vampires, and then you start giving yourself a hard time ... Will the monsters make it better, Guillermo?" Let's hope so. Though del Toro then admitted getting scared, on rare occasion, amid all this fright-fest material.
