Sigourney Weaver on "Keeping a Hedgehog" in Her Private Parts (VIDEO)

Let's start off with the good news. Actress Sigourney Weaver had her first film role in Woody Allen's 'Annie Hall' -- which won the Best Picture Academy Award, and which is one of the most famous movies of the 1970s. That's the good news. The bad news is that Sigourney only had a cameo in that movie: in fact, she didn't even get to utter a single line of dialogue. Which is kind of lame, considering that she went on to be such a famous actress. On 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' (weeknights, 12AM ET on ABC), Weaver explained how she got such a lousy debut movie part. It seems that Woody Allen wanted to give her a much bigger role in 'Annie Hall.' Unfortunately, Sigourney was busy starring in an "off-off-Broadway" play that her friend had written. And what was her part in this play, you might ask? Well, get ready for things to get weird. Weaver had the part of "a little girl" who "kept a hedgehog in her ... vagina." Great.
All right, so -- a couple of thoughts:
1) The play that Sigourney describes sounds like the most fascinating/horrifying play ever.
2) It was probably not a good idea to turn down a starring role in an Academy Award-winning Woody Allen film in order to portray a little girl with a hedgehog in her ... well ... you know.
Here's the joke that Jimmy Kimmel had ready after hearing Weaver's story. "And did that hedgehog in your vagina inspire the movie 'Alien'?" Oh, man. Enough talking about va-jay-jays, the both of you! ... Anyway, Kimmel's little gag is an obvious reference to Sigourney's most famous film role. And funnily enough, Jimmy's joke is more accurate than he may even realize.
Fortunately, of course, Weaver's somewhat poor first movie gig didn't end up holding her back. First, she did get the lead role in 'Alien.' After that, she also got a part in a little motion picture called 'Ghostbusters' -- which is still clearly the funniest film of all time. (It also has the best theme song of all time. Which is nice.)
Speaking of which, towards the end of her interview with Kimmel, Ms. Weaver related meeting Bill Murray (her 'Ghostbusters' co-star) for the first time. Apparently, after their introduction, Murray instantly picked her up and threw her over his shoulder. Then, for some unfathomable comedic reason, he carried her like this -- slung over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes -- for several blocks.
Sigourney was extremely polite while recounting this whole Bill-Murray-grabbing-experience. "I thought that [it] was very friendly," she said. But the talk show host had a different point of view. "That's about as 'friendly' as it gets," Jimmy replied sarcastically. "It's actually, I think, 'a crime' ... if you press charges."
