Stephen Colbert to Tea Party Candidate Christine O'Donnell: "Come on My Show!" (VIDEO)

Stephen Colbert to Tea Party Candidate Christine O'Donnell: 'Come on My Show!'Well, it's time for Round Two of Stephen Colbert vs. Christine O'Donnell. Previously, as you may remember, Stephen unleashed the 'CHRISTINE O'DONNELL CLIP PREDICTOR 3000,' as part of an effort to determine what would be the next bizarre story involving the Republican candidate from Delaware.

He also threatened to keep on predicting weird stories about Ms. O'Donnell -- unless she gave up and made an appearance on his show. (This, by the way, was a parody of host Bill Maher, who has said he will keep showing video clips of Christine until she returns to his show 'Politically Incorrect.')

But sadly, Stephen's last ploy failed ... and failed badly, because O'Donnell wants nothing to do with him. So on the latest 'Colbert Report,' (weeknights, 11:30PM ET on Comedy Central), he resorts to a different tactic.

It seems that during an appearance on Fox News, O'Donnell stated that she would not be appearing on any national TV shows. This might not be a terrible idea on her part, since most of the recent stories about her have involved stuff like:

1) Her former "dabbling" in witchcraft.

2) Her belief that scientists are splicing human brains into mice (or something).

Her confusion over how monkeys could evolve into human beings.

If this what what the national media was reporting about us, we'd probably avoid going on their shows too. But Christine has left a small loophole, which Mr. Colbert attempts to exploit. O'Donnell has said that she'll still appear on local Delaware television programs. And so, Stephen unveils a new version of his show: "THE DELAWERT REPORT."

Yes, it's all part of an insidious attempt to trick Ms. O'Donnell into talking to him. But we're going to have to guess that Christine is too crafty to fall for it. On the other hand, you never know. It might just work after all ...
