Water War! Splashing to the Death on 'Late Night With Jimmy Fallon' (VIDEO)

Things are about to get wet. In his role as a hard-nosed detective on 'Law and Order: SVU,' actor Christopher Meloni has seen his share of tough situations. But he's never encountered anything as tough as what he's about to deal with on 'Late Night' (weeknights, 12:37AM ET on NBC). Okay, that's completely untrue. We were just trying to hype this up a little bit.

For reasons that are better left unexplained, Meloni enters into a game of war with host Jimmy Fallon. But it's not just war. It's ... WATER WAR! The rules are simple, since they're based on the incredibly easy children's card game. Here's how to play:


1) Each player gets five glasses of water.

2) Cards are then dealt, with the "high card" winning.

3) The winner then gets to splash his glass of water in his opponent's face.

4) The first person to splash five times is the champion. The prize? Getting to blast the other dude with "the water cannon."

5) Taunting is highly encouraged.

In fact, the game is pretty much all about the taunting and ritual humiliation of the other guy. After throwing his glass of water in Fallon's face, Meloni snarls this at his rival: "Is that water, or are those tears?" Nice. Meanwhile, Jimmy pretty much contents himself with screaming stuff like: "YAAAAAAH!"

For a while, Chris has Fallon on the ropes: "This game is so much fun!" he says. "This game is the worst!" is the host's reply. But then, Jimmy strikes back! Now it's Meloni vs. Fallon ... to the death! (Not really.) Who will emerge victorious? And since we haven't mentioned it yet, what's up with the incredibly girly flower-covered shower caps that both dudes are wearing?
