'Criminal Minds' Set Visit: Season 6 Is All About Secrets (VIDEO)

by Maggie Furlong, posted Sep 29th 2010 10:00AM

Last season of 'Criminal Minds' was rough on everyone -- Hotch lost his ex-wife and is now left to raise their son by himself, and Rossi was tested as the team tracked a vicious serial killer.

Of course, we're also losing JJ this season (A.J. Cook will only be in two episodes to wrap up her storyline), and we'll be seeing quite a bit less of Prentiss (star Paget Brewster has said this season will be her last). So where does that leave the BAU team? With secrets, that's where.

I hit the L.A. set to get the scoop on Season 6 (Wednesdays, 9PM ET on CBS) from stars Joe Mantegna and Thomas Gibson, and they both told me that secrets are a big theme this year. So will there be romance for Hotch as he juggles work and single parenthood? And will we meet any of Rossi's three ex wives? Watch and find out about that, new guest stars and more.

they should pay the cast more then they do Crimimal minds is a great show why let anyone go if they want to fire someone fire Charlie Sheen they then can pay the cast of criminal minds more It was not right letting JJ and Printess go like they did now Gibson dont mess up a good show. Watch it all the time if I am working I tape it and watch it when I get home. Some of the story lines had me setting on the edge of my seat too. so wake up and smell the coffee pay them more they are worth it

i don't like the women getting written out but come on people, think about it. The main story arc for like, the past three or four seasons has been The Reaper. Now that that's done, the need something to spice it up. If you've been watching, you'll notice that they're getting back to earlier little tid-bits to refresh the series- like Reid and his Converse. They have to keep it going and by doing so, they have to make so decisions, no matter how unpopular. Think about it like this: either no more JJ or no more show at all. Both suck, but I'd much rather have the first one.

Maybe...but sometimes on shows new characters can be so unpopular that show runners are forced to get rid of them. One very recent example is Grey's Anatomy where they literally just killed most of newly introduced characters off. I wasn't really seeing a problem with the team before the removal of JJ. I'm not sure many of the fans were either. I also don't know whether the addition of Rachel Nichols and the removal of AJ Cook and eventually Paget Brewster will ACTUALLY help the popularity of the show. I don't prefer the current season 6 cast. But that's just me.

Also, what is with the change in the dynamics among the team? Reid and Morgan used to be close...now Derek seems cold and almost hostile toward Reid. What's up with that? Thoughts?

Honestly, I am done with Criminal Minds. It wasone of my favs, but I think that there have been too many GOOD losses of characters for me. Time to move on!!!!!!

Just when I was ready to drop CM from my watched list I read that they're bringing Rachel Nichols for a multi arc storyline... nice... cater to my shallow side... okay fine, it totally worked. I'm back in. But I'm still mad as hell about AJ getting the boot and Paget's screentime cutbacks. SO not cool!

What role did Rachel Nichols play? I am sadden by the departure of JJ and less screen time for Prentis. What is their problem? Smart, attractive women are very rare, in the FBI. Now they made me cry...

I feel like they family is breaking up, and it's that close knit family that made the show as popular as it was. I am very dissappointed!

I for one will NOT be tuning in to CM any longer. If the show cares so little for women, then as a woman, why should I watch? I'll find another way to spend my hour on Wednesday nights. It's a shame they've taken to destroying this once great show.

I am very disappointed to see A.J. Cook leave Criminal Minds..Also disappointed that Paget Brewster will have less air time..Wonder if they are planning to replace J.J. with another female actress.
No matter, I will STILL be watching Criminal Minds..watched it from the beginning and enjoy the re-runs. Thomas Gibson is without a doubt one of the BEST actors on TV. AND he is not bad to look at.
Joe Montega has always been a favorite, and I hope the writers keep it as interesting as last season and DO NOT CANCEL IT..like they do so many shows that people seem to like.

AJ Cook leaving was the decision of CBS. Nobody wanted it but the network.

Criminal Minds was my favorite and it won't be the same without Prentis and JJ. Down go the ratings.
