Busy Philipps: 'Cougar Town' Cast Got Scolded for Drinking Too Much (VIDEO)

Watch just one episode -- any episode -- of 'Cougar Town,' and you'll notice several characters always clamoring for a drink -- wine for the ladies, beers for the lads. "We drink a lot on the show," Busy Philipps admitted on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' (weeknights, 12:05AM ET on ABC).

Last season, cast members got a bit too loose with the sauce on set. At the start of filming season 2, producers gave them a "talking-to," dished Philipps. "[They said], 'We know you guys have a lot of fun, but for the first six episodes can you really just keep it down?' ... But we just finished our sixth episode, so we're back!" joked the actress.

Jimmy Kimmel clarified that the seventh installment ("the drunk episode") will air right after Halloween, and "that'll be fun to compare and contrast." Indeed it will.

Philipps said, "We got a lot of really positive press towards the end of last season, about the turnaround of the show." And her co-star Brian Van Holt, who plays Courteney Cox's ex, noted, "'Dude, we were loaded!' Maybe there's something to it. Our acting gets better?!"
