Oprah Lands First TV Interview With Mel Gibson's Ex-Girlfriend
It may be the final season, but 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' shows no signs of slowing down just yet. It's been announced that the talk show has beaten out '60 Minutes' to land an interview with Mel Gibson's ex-girlfriend, Russian singer Oksana Grigorieva.
According to 'US Magazine' Grigorieva will sit down with Oprah to talk about her rocky relationship with the movie star, with whom she has a baby daughter. The couple have been locked in a bitter custody dispute, and hit the headlines over the summer after controversial taped phone conversations between them were leaked to the media.
And in related news, The Los Angeles Times is reporting that Grigorieva's attorneys may also have their own interviews lined up: With sheriff's investigators.
The newspaper reports that Los Angeles County sheriff's investigators are widening their investigation into whether Mel Gibson was the target of an extortion plot. They have spent weeks looking into claims that someone close to Grigorieva was attempting to extort money from Gibson, and now detectives plan to interview two lawyers who represented her. A sheriff's spokesman said "The interviews should take place in the next couple of weeks."
They have also been investigating claims of domestic violence against Gibson and both cases may be considered simultaneously by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office.
Maybe we'll even see them in a "Ripped From the Headlines" storyline on the new 'Law & Order: Los Angeles' ...
