Carl Paladino's Angry Showdown With Reporter Analyzed on 'Hardball' (VIDEO)

by Jeremy Taylor, posted Oct 1st 2010 4:30PM
On 'Hardball With Chris Matthews' (Weekdays 5 PM ET on MSNBC), Matthews played the now-notorious tape of New York gubernatorial candidate and Tea Party-favorite Carl Paladino getting in to it with New York Post political journalist Fred Dicker.

During the angry exchange, which centers around Paladino's charge that the Post sent a photographer to take pictures of his ten-year old daughter (a charge the paper denies), Paladino menacingly threatens to "take (Dicker) out."

Veteran Time Magazine political reporter Joe Klein offered his opnion that there might be more of these crazy scenes to come this election season:

"You have, within the Republican party, a majority of people who have been angry at their incumbents, they voted them out and they voted in these amateurs. . . who really don't know how to behave like politicians. And sometimes that is refreshing, and other times it's really embarrassing."

There is also another way to describe political "amateurs" like Paladino: a lot of fun to watch. (So long as they don't actually, you know, take anyone out.)
