Leno Digs Up Morgan Freeman's Cringeworthy McDonald's Commercial (VIDEO)

Morgan Freeman's McDonald's Commercial on 'Tonight Show'Jay Leno may never get Morgan Freeman to visit 'The Tonight Show' (weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC) ever again. "Do you remember auditioning, and doing, a McDonald's commercial -- maybe in the early '70s, with Donny Most from 'Happy Days'?" Leno asked the actor gingerly.

Upon realizing the ad he was referring to, Freeman gave the host an angry glare. "I was sandbagged," Freeman said. "I know you're going to show it, you dirty rat. But what you're going to see is not what I auditioned to do."

Indeed, it was pretty painful to watch. But Freeman went on to become an Oscar-winning actor. So ... here's more evidence of paying his dues: a 1973 commercial for Listerine. Please don't hate us, Mr. Freeman.

I am sure Jay spent alot of time researching. It is interesting to compare the big 3. Johnny Carson was all class, Leno never had any class and Letterman lost his class years ago.

Too bad, Morgan Freeman is such a bad actor.
FIRST -- Freeman supplied the MCD's commercial from his files.
That's the way it works.
His studio, agent, manager or the guest himself provides the clip.
The actor, Morgan Freeman, sold that "Acting" reaction and it was funny.
Funny, Hell it was PERFECT!!
But that is Morgan Freeman, whether the washed up gunman in Eastwood's "UNFORGIVEN," or the washed up fighter and gym rat in "MILLION DOLLAR BABY."
Or, that incredible performance in 'SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION" or any of his other roles, lead, featured, character or bit part.
Morgan Freeman is merely one of the world's great cinema actors.
There remain Nicholson, Hackman, Penn, Depp, Eastwood, and a handful of others.

Morgan Freeman is a dear man. Almost a national treasure. I wish him a long life and happiness. He always makes me smile. Some people are just that special and he is one of them.

Gosh, how heartwarming. I will bet his ex-wife and ex-daughter-in-law are just gushing boobs, like you, over him screwing and having a baby with their daughter & granddaughter, respectively. How special! Hopefully someone will make a little precious moments statue of him, her, and the baby. What a terrific Christmas present that would make for all of the Toady Groin Scratcher crew in support of the League of Extraordinary Scumbags (i.e., consisting of Morgan and his buddy in quasi-incest, Woody Allen).

I thought Freeman's McDonald's part was just fine. What was wrong with it? It was an early paying gig, something to get his face out there, and he's done well in the business since then. Why is it embarressing?

Instead of being upset about the old commercial Morgan Freeman should be proud of how his career has blossomed. Meanwhile, what has Donny "Ralph Malph" Most done since HAPPY DAYS? I bet these days Donny would be happy to do more commercials.

Hell, I'd be torqued off too if someone had a video of me doing a commercial with Ralph Malph!

Hey, all GREAT actors have to start somewhere. I'm sure that they all are embarassed about some of their early-carrer acting gigs. Morgan freman is a HUGE box-office draw today!
