Jon Stewart Jokes About Rick Sanchez Firing on 'Daily Show,' Compares Former Anchor to Michael Scott (VIDEO)

Jon Stewart Mocks Rick Sanchez, Says the Fired Anchor Was 'Flawed'It looks like Jon Stewart isn't finished messing around with former TV anchor Rick Sanchez. Mr. Sanchez has had a rough week already. The disgraced journalist was fired from CNN after he made anti-semitic remarks during a radio interview. Sanchez had also called Jon Stewart a "bigot."

But tonight, on 'The Daily Show' (weeknights, 11PM ET on Comedy Central), Jon decided to have a little fun at Rick's expense. First, he said that Rick was "flawed but fascinating." The host then revealed that he had made a new video mocking Sanchez. But should he go ahead and show it?

Jon paused here to consider the implications. Did he want to kick a man while he was down? "[Showing the video] now just seems ... kinda mean." Then he went ahead and played the video anyway.

What followed was a fairly dead-on parody, comparing Rick Sanchez to Michael Scott, the bumbling and incompetent boss on 'The Office.' The tape showed Sanchez as his usual dopey self, spouting meaningless catchphrases like "TMI" and "What up?!" Very nice.

It's ironic. Stewart's taunting of the CNN anchor was basically what caused Rick to freak out and get fired in the first place. And though Rick's anti-semitic remarks were totally inexcusable, his dismissal from CNN does have one sad aspect: Now that he's gone, there won't be any more Sanchez jokes on 'The Daily Show'! What a shame. Jon will just have to find someone else to mock.

Rick Sanchez was just TOO hispanic and did not fit in on CNN. He was bilingual and at times I heard him speak in spanish when interviewing non-native speakers and as an American I do not like to hear other languages. Thats why most CNN anchors are better suited because they only speak my language. Beside I have noticed that some bilingual speakers mis-speak or may not convey their point as clearly as someone who does not have their thinking clouded by those other un-American languages. Good job John Stewart for beating up on "dirty sanchez" after Rick was fired. I think Stewart really demonstrated how a "real american" should treat those people.

So to speak of all these Jewish people in politics and finance and entertainment - sure these are hi paying 'influential' positions -look around- have their decisions made the rest of our lives any easier? - It seems quite the contrary - why shouldnt this group be questioned - historically they believe they are god's chosen - i mean really? - u trust these people to make judgments pertaining to your life?
Ok theres antisemitic and then theres anti-anything that isnt Jew - which category do you fall in?

So true...and I watched his show everyday because I had become a fan but the comment on Jews was "uncalled for", as my mother says. But then I am an admirer of the Jewish people because their history is almost parallel to my peoples' history: African-Americans and I can understand.

Like a typical antisemite Sanchez blames his own failings and limited success on the Jews. Anyone who listens to him can tell he is basically not so intelligent, but he's frustrated that he's not given the best anchor positions. He has to come up with a reason for it, so of course it has nothing to do with his own failings. It's "their" fault. And of course Jon Stewart makes fun of him not because he deserves being mocked as an incompetent, but because Stewart's "one of them."
As to his being fired, he publicly insulted his colleagues at CNN, some of whom are Jewish, saying their decisions regarding his career are not based on his talent but their prejudice. Nothing evil about him being fired for such unprofessional conduct.

I would like to clear up a statement from my last email on Rick Sanchez's true statement on John Stewart. I do not feel that he(Stewart) is a bigot. But the statement on the priveleges(sic) that many of the Jewish people have earned, I feel are true.

Look, this politically correct thing has gotten totally out of hand! Although,Rick should have known better. What he said was true but you just cannot say it while in the public eye. Period!!So maybe now he will have a place on SirusRadio, where anything can be said but thankfully, not seen and that's why Howard Stern is there!!

Jewish people are, pound for pound, the most well off people in the United States. A great percentage are college educated and have professional occupations. They are incredibly disproportionately represented in government and the media. what's the freaking big whoop? Everybody knows this. At worst, these simple facts tend to suggest high achievement and perhaps a bit of nepotism, not too bad really. But, when you fire someone for pointing it out it looks EVIL and oppressive.
