'No Ordinary Family': The Family's Secret Is Revealed (VIDEO)

'No Ordinary Family': The Family's Secret Is RevealedThe new superhero drama 'No Ordinary Family' (Tue., 8PM ET on ABC) is kind of a rip-off of the film 'The Incredibles.' Which itself was a rip-off of the comic book 'The Fantastic Four.' But hey, that's fine with us! We all love superheroes, and there's still ton of superhero-y stories left to tell. So it's all good.

The set-up for the show is simple. A family of four is granted amazing powers -- then must learn to use their gifts while carrying on with their lives in the "normal' world. And on the latest episode, real life and heroism most definitely come into conflict.

[Warning: Spoiler alert.]

This time around, the conflict involves the head of the family: Dad Jim Powell (Michael Chiklis). Jim is having some job trouble -- as we all do. But Jim's problems are a little more ... complicated. Mr. Powell works as a sketch artist in the local police department. So being a superhero is strictly an "after-work" activity for him. But one day, while Jim is beating up on some bad guys ... the cops arrive, and he bumps into one of his co-workers. Whoops.

The co-worker in question is Detective Yvonne Cho (Christina Chang). She doesn't see Jim use his powers, but she does see him fleeing the scene of a crime. Ms. Cho wants to know what is going on. In order to explain himself, Jim has to reveal his secret. As Detective Cho stares at him in horror/astonishment, Jim displays his super-strength by lifting a SUV with one hand. Well -- the cat's out of the bag now. But did Jim make the right choice in telling the truth?
