'Warehouse 13' Coming Back for Season 3
After weeks of rumors, it's been reported that 'Warehouse 13' will be back for a third season in 2011.According to The Hollywood Reporter, SyFy will soon announce that it's ordered another 13 episodes of the series. Showrunner Jack Kenny will be staying for the the new season and he's believed to have signed a development deal with the cable network.
The second season of 'Warehouse 13' was SyFy's most-watched series this year. Programming Chief Mark Stern said of the new deal, "Jack Kenny's superlative leadership and the incredible talent of his cast and crew delivered an outstanding second season of 'Warehouse 13.' ... We're excited to see this successful series return next year and to developing our next hit with Jack."
The series follows two secret service agents (played by Joanne Kelly and Eddie McClintock) who collect dangerous supernatural artifacts for a top-secret storage facility in South Dakota, known as 'Warehouse 13.'
It's been variously described as 'The X-Files' meets 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' meets 'The Librarian' meets 'Moonlighting,' and has been written or produced by some of the heaviest hitters in television sci fi, such as Rockne S. O'Bannon ('Farscape') and Jane Espenson ("Battlestar Galactica').
