It's Finally Happened ... Craig Ferguson Has Gone Totally Insane (VIDEO)

It's Finally Happened ... Craig Ferguson Has Gone Totally InsaneEvery once in a while, we're privileged to watch true television greatness. This has only happened three times, as far as we know. First, we got to see a man walk on the moon. And then, much later on, Lady Gaga wore a "meat dress" in front of a national audience.

So, those were the first two incredibly cool things to happen on TV. Thanks to host Craig Ferguson, tonight's 'Late Late Show' (weeknights, 12:37AM ET on CBS) gave us the third moment.

Craig is known for his occasional forays into insanity, as well as his great love for puppets. But he really outdid himself on the latest show, which featured an absurd performance of the classic '80s song 'I Melt With You.' The rendition of the song starred Craig himself, who was sporting a "Flock of Seagulls" haircut.

For no particular reason, Ferguson was joined by the two dudes from 'MythBusters,' as well as puppets "Wavy the Crocodile" and "Sid the Rabbit." Plus a random half-naked dancer or two. ... And the best part of the crazy song was this: It was just the opening of the show, had nothing to do with anything, and Craig never mentioned it again for the rest of the night. Sheer random surrealism! Or just a guy dancing with puppets. Either way, it was pretty cool.

If you don't love this, then it's either that you've got serious mental issues or you're in Al-Qaeda.

I've been watching him since his week long audition and let me tell you, he just gets better! By the way, the MythBusters were there because of Geoff Peterson. A guy from their show, sorry can't think of his name right now, any way, this guy built Geoff. Every once in a while Craig will have someone from the MythBusdters show on. Great amounts of fun!!

Not entirely correct. Geoff Peterson exists because Ferguson is a huge Mythbusters fan, and became friendly with Grant Imohara (the 'robot guy') and the other cast members (they've been guests on the show several times, and Craig has done whole Mythbusters weeks). Geoff was a gift from Grant for Craig's help in getting Grant past 100K followers on Twitter. Adam & Jamie have no direct connection to Geoff.

Craig is a welcome antidote to the kind of hackery you get on the other late night shows.

I completely agree - he is 100% original and I laugh all show long. He's the next 1130 guy.
