Fox Plans an Hour of 'Raising Hope,' Gives Full Season Order: Could This Mean the End of 'Running Wilde'?
Showing an immense amount of faith in its new comedy 'Raising Hope,' Fox will air back-to-back episodes of the show following the 'Rocky Horror Picture Show'-themed 'Glee' episode on Oct. 26, The Futon Critic reports.Unfortunately, that means 'Running Wilde' will be pre-empted that night -- not a good sign for the flailing new series, which has been struggling in the ratings. The 'Raising Hope' experiment could be a sign that Fox has already started to think of replacements for 'Running Wilde' -- then again, it could also simply be a way for the network to drum up hype for 'Raising Hope.'
Additionally, Fox picked up the show's back nine episodes today, Deadline reports, officially ordering a full season of the series.
'Raising Hope,' about a twentysomething guy raising a daughter -- the result of a one night stand with a felon -- has gotten off to a promising start, with 7.5 million viewers tuning in to the premiere and a 3.1 rating. Its second episode earned a 3.2 rating, but fell 16 percent last night to a 2.6, according to TV By the Numbers. 'Running Wilde,' on the other hand, which airs directly after 'Raising Hope' on Tuesday nights, has been steadily falling since its debut, and got a 1.8 rating last night.
What do you think of the scheduling decision? Is this the beginning of the end for 'Running Wilde'?
