Florence Henderson Says Bruno Tonioli Had "PMS" When He Criticized Michael Bolton (VIDEO)
'Dancing With the Stars' contestant Florence Henderson decided to weigh in on the whole Bruno Tonioli vs. Michael Bolton controversy. And she got a little catty while doing so.On 'The Tonight Show' (weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC), Henderson discussed the feud between Mr. Tonioli and Mr. Bolton. The judge and the contestant have been bickering ever since Michael's dismissal on week two of the dance contest.
"Was Bruno too harsh on him?" asked host Jay Leno. Florence tried to be even-handed in her reply. First, she stood up for Tonioli's actions. "Judges are judges," she said. "You gotta take the criticism." But then, Henderson smirked and said this: "I do think Bruno may have had a little PMS that night." Ouch!
Bolton got some of the lowest scores in 'DWTS' history, during an epically bad dance routine where he crawled out of a doghouse onstage. The singer was ejected from the show -- but not before he received a firm tongue-lashing from Tonioli. "You did it all very, very, very badly," Bruno said. Michael demanded an apology from the judge, calling his remarks "disrespectful." But no apology was given.
Though Michael Bolton may now know the pain of "being in the doghouse," Florence had her own painful dance story to tell. The actress is no stranger to performing on stage. She began her career with parts in Broadway musicals, and has suffered many injuries over the years -- including a night where she had to dance on a broken foot. Unlike Mr. Bolton, she never complained about her dancing-related mishaps. Not even once. Just a little food for thought there.
