Sarah Palin Says Husband Todd Turned Down 'Dancing With the Stars'
Was Bristol the second choice candidate for dancing stardom in the Palin household?
CNN.com reports that at a speaking engagement in Houston, Texas Tuesday, Sarah Palin let slip that producers had wanted her husband Todd to be a contestant on the show, but she kept mum on whether he was asked before Bristol was.
"They wanted Todd to be on the show ... I think that would have been cool to see, too. But here Bristol is, out of her comfort zone, doing something all new."
So would Bristol's mom ever be a contestant on 'Dancing With the Stars'?
When asked by an audience member if she would ever join the cast, Palin laughed and said she would have to translate her basketball skills to the dance floor. "They would have to let me dribble back and forth and maybe pivot and do a jump shot or something as part of the routine," she said. "In fact, when Bristol said, 'I don't know how to dance,' I told her, just think of it as learning some basketball plays."
Bristol Palin is a contestant on the current season of 'Dancing With the Stars,' and although she and partner Mark Ballas have received low marks so far from the show's judges, they've been saved from elimination by viewers' votes. Sarah Palin defended Bristol's laid-back style and said she's embracing her new hobby: "She is way out of her element, out of her comfort zone, and she is the first to admit that."
