'Survivor: Nicaragua' -- The Latest Elimination Gets "Emotional" (VIDEO)
On the previous 'Survivor: Nicaragua,' (Wed., 8PM ET on CBS), the Espada tribe voted off their supposed "leader" -- former pro football coach Jimmy Johnson. The coach was eliminated after fighting with the always grouchy Jimmy Tarantino. "Jimmy T." couldn't stand the fact that Johnson got to call all the shots -- and his constant moaning led to the coach's departure. But with Johnson gone, team Espada had no clear leader. The question on tonight's show was this: Who would fill the leadership void?
[Warning: Spoiler alert.]
The answer seemed obvious. Jimmy T. decided that he would take over the tribe. But he failed miserably, for one simple reason: No one else could stand him. Tarantino annoyed everyone with his constant bragging, and the tribe started to fall apart. Things got worse for Espada during the immunity challenge -- which provided an awesome metaphor for the whole situation. The players had to retrieve items while blindfolded, and team La Flor easily trounced Espada. With no leader to guide them, Espada stumbled around helplessly in their blindfolds. It really was the blind leading the blind!
At the Tribal Council, Jimmy was on the hot-seat. Host Jeff Probst tried to smooth things over. Probst encouraged Jimmy to relax -- and told that him he should be a "follower, not a leader." Jimmy promised that he would change ... but he looked angry and upset. Probst then said that Jimmy was being "emotional."
And Probst was right. Tarantino couldn't really control himself, and couldn't really pretend that he would act like less of a jerk. Tarantino was kicked off by a 5 to 3 vote. The would-be "leader" of Espada had to snuff out his torch and leave the game.
