Joy and Whoopi Walk Off 'The View' After Comment by Bill O'Reilly (VIDEO)
On 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated), the panel has a shouting match with Bill O'Reilly over the Ground Zero mosque, then Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg walk off the set after O'Reilly says that "Muslims killed us on 9/11."O'Reilly argues that most of America is against the proposed Ground Zero mosque because of Muslim involvement in the terror bombings of 9/11. This causes a furor among the panel and Behar rises from the couch to leave the set.
"I don't want to sit here now. I don't. I'm outraged by that statement!" Behar said. Goldberg joins her in protest, and the two walk offstage to loud cheers from the audience.
But Barbara Walters chides her co-hosts for their behavior. "You have just seen what should not happen," she said. "We should be able to have discussions without washing our hands and screaming and walking offstage. I love my colleagues, but it should not have happened."
