Michael Moore Wishes The Chilean Government Was in Charge of BP Disaster (VIDEO)

by Jeremy Taylor, posted Oct 14th 2010 4:17PM
Michael Moore was likely booked to appear on 'Larry King Live' (weekdays 9 PM ET on CNN) Wednesday well before anyone knew that would be the day the last Chilean miner was pulled to the surface. And it should surprise no one that Moore used his appearance to do what he usually does: Criticize the powers-that-be in the United States.

"I was thinking, sitting here watching this, that the next time we have a hole in the Gulf of Mexico, we need to call in the Chilean government," Moore told King with a laugh.

"It took us three months to plug a seven inch hole," Moore continued, comparing the American government's efforts to plug the leak in the BP disaster unfavorably to the 69 days it took for Chile to get their miners out.

Of course, Moore neglected to discuss the rather extraordinary difference in the two tasks, from an engineering standpoint. Nor did he mention that the actual drilling in Chile was done by an American, working for an American-Chilean company.

"You never quit, do you Michael," was King's exasperated response to Moore's relentless, less-than-logical criticism.
