News Roundup: MTV's T.J. Lavin in Coma, David James Elliott Cast on 'CSI: NY' and More

T.J. LavinBMX star T.J. Lavin, who hosts MTV's 'Real World/Road Rules Challenge,' is in a medically induced coma after crashing in a Las Vegas BMX competition last night.

According to E! Online, the star wiped out when he lost control of his bike when landing a stunt, which knocked him unconscious. He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors put him in a medically induced coma to reduce brain swelling. He also sustained a broken wrist and broken ribs.

The star remains in critical condition.

Simon MacCorkindale, the British actor who stared in NBC's 'Manimal,' died "in the arms of his wife." He was diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2006, and the disease spread to his lungs in 2007. He was 58. [TV Guide]

Norman Lloyd, the 96-year-old 'St. Elsewhere' actor, will guest star on 'Modern Family.' He'll play a senior citizen whom Cameron befriends in a shopping mall. [TV Guide]

For the last few seasons, JAG had the Friday Night at 9 timeslot on CBS. He joined the cast of Close to Home in the second season - same timeslot. Now CSI:NY moves to that timeslot and he appears there. Quite a coincidence.
