Will Arnett Backs Twitter Petition to Save 'Running Wilde' from Cancellation

Keri Russell and Will Arnett in 'Running Wilde'Could 'Running Wilde' be the next series to be consigned to the fall TV junkyard? Not if star Will Arnett has anything to say about it.

Arnett stars in the sitcom as an egocentric billionaire who tries to win back his high school sweetheart, played by Keri Russell. Following disappointing ratings, he has taken things into his own hands, and is urging fans to sign a petition to save the struggling series.

As reported by The Live Feed, Arnett turned to Twitter to gain support, and wrote, "Never done a grassroots effort, but let's save the effing show Running Wilde forever! Or five decent seasons, plus a 6th for Two And A Half Men $$ [money]."

He also expressed his gratitude to fans and exasperation at the viewing figures: "Thanks to everyone who signed the petition ... f**king ratings sucked ... I guess America hates jokes?"

Although Fox has already ordered 13 episodes of 'Running Wilde,' the future of the comedy is uncertain because viewing figures -- never strong -- have been steadily declining. Last week the show was down 12 percent , while fellow newbie 'Raising Hope,' which airs right before it, was up by 4 percent.

Fox has already ordered another nine episodes of 'Hope' and, in a strong sign that the network's losing faith, it has pre-empted the Oct. 26 episode of 'Running Wilde' in favor of showing back-to-back episodes of 'Raising Hope.'

Is 'Running Wilde' really on its last legs? Stay tuned for more updates.

'Running Wilde' airs Tues., 8:30PM ET on Fox.

'Raising Hope' airs Tues., 8PM ET on Fox.

Incredibly witty and painfully funny! I LOVE this show, and truly hope people tune it and appreciate this type of humor. I have already watched the fourth episode FIVE times! It gets funnier every time!

"I guess America hates jokes?"

No, Will, they just hate your jokes. I'm with most of America. Running Wilde is not that funny, but then I've never been a Will Arnett fan.

it's different when you're trying to save a show that is actually good. he should move on to better projects.

Maybe they should do their part and make it actually worth watching. At the moment I'm still clinging to fact that the cast is so good, but so far it has been decidedly average.
