President Barack Obama to Appear on 'Mythbusters'

President ObamaIt's not a dream, not a hoax and certainly not an alternate reality: President Obama will appear on 'Mythbusters.'

Say what? Yep, according to Deadline Hollywood, the president will stop by Discovery's 'Mythbusters' on the Dec. 8 episode. So, what will Obama be challenging Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman to prove?

Well, the episode is called 'Archimedes Solar Ray,' and the president asks the dynamic duo to prove the Greek myth that Archimedes set fire to a Roman fleet using mirrors and the sun's reflected rays.

When President Obama stopped by 'The View' in July, he brought in record ratings for the talk show.

Appearances by the president and the first lady on primetime programming are rare, except of course the State of the Union and other speeches. Michelle Obama appeared on 'Iron Chef America' for a special challenge aimed at local foods and healthy eating, but President Obama turned down an offer from 'Top Chef D.C.'

Oh, for chrissake, people - he probably spent a few hours filming this.it's not like he's taking week- or month- long vacations every few months at his texas ranch while soldiers are dying in a war of lies. Do you really think the president rules so single handedly that a few hours to make contact with the zombie public will devastate the country?

You want to blame the inability of the government and every other Republican happy to preach Impeachment over progress all on Obama? Ignore Reagan-nomics and two wars? I'm not saying Obama's perfect or without flaws but I do find it silly that people blame one person or a political group for our problems when everyone's a career politician looking out for their own interests.

That said, another revisit of a bland myth is awful. Mythbusters is already starting to wear itself thin. Obama on the show reeks of dual attempts from the show and the Pres. to get some approval points.

Spends more time on television shows than he does in the Oval Office, am beginning to think him making like he is president is a stepping stone to a career in Hollywood. What is he trying to prove, that someone might find a way to make a non-performing president disappear?

Didn't the Mythbuster already busted that myth twice?
In 2004 and again in 2006. Isn't Obama satisfied with the results of those episodes?

Must be a revisit, as the Mythbusthers crew already did a segment on the Archimedes Death Ray a few years ago. While Deadline's usually on track ("TOLDJA!"), they might have gotten their signals crossed.
