What to Watch: October 18 - 24
CSI: Miami - Sunday October 24, 10PM ET/PT, A/CBSThe man who killed Horatio's mysterious wife escapes from prison and the entire team is tasked to figure out what he's after (besides freedom from the slammer, I guess) and to stop him before he strikes again. Listen, I've watched enough 'CSI' in my life to know what this guy wants -- he wants to finish the job on the Caine family and put Horatio six feet under, and of course in the end Horatio will outsmart him and deliver some crushingly awful line as the killer is being led back behind bars (or maybe H shoots him?) But either way, I weep for the missed opportunity to kill off Horatio and start fresh with this show.

Law & Order: Los Angeles - Wednesday October 20, 10PM ET/PT, A/CBS
When a freak meth-lab explosion (is there any other kind?) kills two kids, Skeet Ulrich and his partner, Guy-On-Show-With-Skeet, track down the dealer's family and figure out they are planning something even more destructive. Wait -- meth dealers are planning something? That seems unlikely. But hey, so did yet another spin-off for this franchise.
Canada's Walk of Fame - Wednesday October 20, 9PM ET/PT, Global
Hairless wonder Howie Mandel inducts a bunch of youngsters this year, including Sarah Polley, Clara Hughes and Nelly Furtado. Rounding out the additions are Eric McCormack, Farley Mowat, Doug Henning and David Clayton-Thomas of Blood, Sweat & Tears. I've never actually watched one of these Walk of Fame telecasts, but I like to imagine it as the most uncomfortable street party ever, as Nelly Furtado and Eric McCormack, for example, try to make small talk while waiting for cement to dry. It's all very Sartre.
The Office - Thursday October 21, 9PM ET/PT, Global/NBC
Delicious Timothy Olyphant ('Deadwood') guest stars this week as a rival sales rep who steals clients from Dunder Mifflin. United in indignation, Michael, Jim and Dwight set up a fake company -- Vandelay Industries? -- and set up a sting operation. Meanwhile in what is sure to be an uncomfortably hilarious side ploy, Andy discovers an old classmate has a successful music career, and begins wondering if he could have made it too. That's right people, Andy starts a band. How will Scrantonicity feel about this?
