Teresa Giudice's Salary Is Lower Than Fellow 'Real Housewives'

by PopEater Staff, posted Oct 20th 2010 3:30PM
Teresa Giudice'Real Housewives of New Jersey' star Teresa Giudice has been holding out on re-signing her contract with Bravo. But it's not because she's a demanding diva who's asking for too much money, according to PopEater's Rob Shuter.

Instead, a source told Shuter that Giudice just wants to get paid a similar amount to what castmates Caroline Manzo and Jacqueline Laurita make.

"I think people deserve to know the truth," a close friend of Giudice told Shuter exclusively. "Bravo pays Caroline and Jacqueline more than Teresa and she isn't holding out because she thinks she's bigger. She just wants to make the same."

Shuter's source called it "crazy" that one of the most popular 'Housewives' in the franchise (the biggest, if you're counting magazine covers) makes less than her fellow Garden Staters. We also argued for Giudice getting a raise weeks ago.

"She brings in ratings and [really] invites viewers into her house, even the birthing room of her daughter," the source said. "That she gets less -- that's crazy!"

Bravo claims they pay the women the exact same amount (it's $250k this season). But the way the network gets around that is by compensating the adult children of the Manzos.

Rob Shuter"Teresa understands her children can't get paid because of issues with child labor laws, but she just she just wants them to have a college fund," an inside source told Shuter.

Shuter's sources believe that each of the three families (Manzos, Lauritas, Giudices) should be getting the same.

"It's actually harder for Teresa because her children are small," one source said. "She doesn't have a nanny, and she needs to pay babysitters when Bravo forces her to leave town for filming and press."

Adding the amount that adult children are given, Shuter learned the Manzos are getting $310,000, the Lauritas are second with $270,000 and the Giudices receive the base rate of $250,000.

"Bravo could make it even by giving the Giudice girls a college fund or trust or by paying for a babysitter or an assistant for Teresa, yet they won't," a friend told Shuter

Sounds fair to me. Stay tuned. Shuter is digging up some MASSIVE 'Housewives' news that could be hitting the headlines this week.
