Bravo Moves 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' to Sundays

by Chris Harnick, posted Oct 25th 2010 10:50AM
Real Housewives of AtlantaCome Nov. 7, NeNe Leakes will be facing off against Nora Walker. That's right, Bravo is moving its reality series 'The Real Housewives of Atlanta' to Sundays at 10PM, putting it in competition with the likes of 'Brothers & Sisters,' 'CSI: Miami' and football.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, this move comes as part of Bravo's planned programming strategy. "We want to start the week earlier," Frances Berwick, president of Bravo, told the Hollywood Reporter. "This means each night is a promotional platform for the next night and it becomes like a domino effect that strengthens our schedule."

Following 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' at 11PM will be a new edition of the late night talk show, 'Watch What Happens Live,' hosted by Andy Cohen.

'Atlanta' will replace 'Law & Order: Criminal Intent' reruns in the Sunday hour. "We're doing this now that we know we have a firm following for 'Real Housewives of Atlanta,'" Berwick said. "We have been reducing our reliance on acquisitions and building our original programming -- all those good things that differentiate us."

I agree with Dani insofar as being bored half to death by the foul-mouthed, uncouth "ladies" of Atlanta. This is just fodder for fools.

Last straw for me was newest "housewife" (Phaedra) making racist comment regarding her mixed-raced husband not appreciating finer foods due to being half white. Apparently this looney toon believes white people only prepare meals by opening cans.
JACKHOLE!!!

I am definitely not a fan of any of the "Housewives" shows, but I faithfully watched Bravo's runs of Law and Order: Criminal Intent on Sunday nights. No matter how many times I watch those episodes, I never tire of Robert Goren and his delightful quirkiness. I, for one, do frown upon Bravo's decision to replace LO:CI with another cookie-cutter reality show (gag).
