Mariah Carey Heading to 'The X Factor'?

Mariah CareyIs America ready for a weekly dose of Mariah Carey? According to the New York Post, Simon Cowell is interested in signing the songstress as a judge on the American version of his hit British talent competition series, 'X Factor.'

Cowell has reportedly been pushing for British pop star Cheryl Cole to get a place at his American 'X Factor' table, but Fox has been reluctant given Cole's somewhat low celebrity profile in the US.

"Look, I've said I'd love Cheryl out there but whether it will happen, who knows?" Cowell told the News of the World. "Mariah Carey would be an amazing addition to the US show," he said. "And she's exactly the right caliber of star that we want for the show."

Fans may remember that Carey's name had been rumored as a judge on 'American Idol,' but those slots were eventually filled by Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler.

Cowell recently revealed that teen singer Justin Bieber has asked to appear on the series and that one of the biggest singers in the world will be a guest judge.

Former Pussycat Doll and 'Dancing With the Stars' winner Nicole Scherzinger is rumored to be on the American 'X Factor' panel.

Please no Mariah on X Factor. She's too high profile. Simon should pick an unknown who will become a star as a result of being on the show, not an already famous A lister. That is just not the spirit of these talent shows. It's supposed to be about judges becoming superstars, not superstars becoming judges.

I have watched the last few seasons of Xfactor UK on you tube, the current season is now in it's 4 week of live shows. I like Cheryl from seeing her on the show. I would much rather watch her every week, Mariah has never been a favorite of mine. She has a nasty personality and she always looks like a whore, maybe now that she is going to be a Mom she will cover up a little. Cheryl has class, Mariah has a fat ass.

It's sad that the Brit's created that mentally challenged "reality" TV format and it's infectious spread into American television. It's that type of bullshit that has made television unwatchable. Well why gripe? TV sucks like it never has before, and we'll just have to accept it and not watch it.
