Regis Cozies Up to 'Gossip Girl's' Ed Westwick on 'Regis and Kelly' (VIDEO)

On 'Live With Regis and Kelly' (weekdays, syndicated), Regis Philbin seems quite taken by Ed Westwick of 'Gossip Girl.' First, Philbin covets Westwick's jewelery and mournfully notes that he himself has none. Then, he declares Westwick "on top of the world" and points out how young the actor is. But, somehow, Philbin manages to get Westwick's age wrong. Oops!

Philbin compliments Westwick on his array of bracelets, to which the actor replies, "They're all gifts from different friends."

"I wish I had that many friends. Look at my wrist right here," Philbin said, indicating a bling-free arm. "Nothing! I've got nothing!"

Then, Westwick goes on to discuss the impact of 'Gossip Girl' in England, and says that filming recently took place in Paris.

"This guy's on top of the world," said Philbin, gesturing to Westwick. "24-years-old."

"Twenty-three," Westwick corrected.

"Excuse me!" Philbin shouted.

The writers of these articles should learn how to spell - or do they think they're too smart to use spell check? Jewelry is not spelled jewelery. Dumb!!

Regis is an embarrassment...her can't even pronounce the names of his guests and he mixes up first and last names...please retire.....

OMG, Elizabeth is so annoying! She NEVER lets anyone else voice their opinions. Enough of her already. She got this job for what reason? There are plenty of other women that are strong minded and less rude.

The gimmic of this show to get more viewers is for Regis to be as ridicuous as he possibly can. People tune in to see what bizzare comments he's going to make today. I bet he did a LOT of drugs in the 1970's.

I agree Christine. I thought it was going to be way of as well. It was a honest mistake. I can hardly keep up with the age of my own children. LOL

As to Elisabeth's opinion on The View...also you might add that these women did not have these children alone. Why is it never a topic for male candidates? Is it because men are not expected to be good involved fathers??
