ABC Cancels 'The Whole Truth,' Orders More 'No Ordinary Family,' 'Better With You,' 'Detroit 1-8-7'

Well, it was fun while it lasted. ABC has not ordered the back-nine episodes of 'The Whole Truth.' However, the network handed out full season orders to 'No Ordinary Family' and 'Better With You,' and ordered more scripts for 'Brothers & Sisters' and 'Detroit 1-8-7.'
While people involved with 'The Whole Truth' have taken to Twitter with different statements, it's clear that ABC will not be ordering more than the 13 episodes already in production.
Jennifer Wright, assistant to 'Whole Truth' showrunner and creator Tom Donaghy, tweeted, "Fans of #thewholetruth : ABC has not pulled us off the air and we have not stopped writing nor producing new episodes. Keep watching! :)," correcting the Ausiello Files report of a cancellation. While it appears to just be a question of wording, the one thing that is clear is 'The Whole Truth' won't produce more than 13 episodes.
The Maura Tierney/Rob Morrow-driven legal drama averaged 5.3 million viewers on Wed. at 10PM, losing a good chunk of its lead-in 'Cougar Town.' On Nov. 3 a special leading up to the Country Music Awards will air in the 10PM timeslot and on Nov. 10 the actual awards ceremony will air. Co-executive producer KristieAnne Reed said in a Tweet that ABC will air all 13 episodes.
According to Deadline Hollywood, freshman ABC drama 'No Ordinary Family' and comedy 'Better With You' got a back-nine order, while cop drama 'Detroit 1-8-7' only got an additional five episode order. Long-running family drama 'Brothers & Sisters' has received an order for four additional episodes.
