'Back to the Future' Cast Reunites on 'Today' for 25th Anniversary (VIDEO)
The cast of 'Back to the Future' reunited on 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM ET on NBC) in honor of the movie's 25th anniversary, and recalled moments while filming the 1985 classic. Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson, Mary Steenburgen, director Robert Zemeckis and Huey Lewis, who sang 'The Power of Love' from the film's soundtrack, were all on hand. When asked to describe his favorite scene from the movie, Fox cited the moment where his character plays a raucous version of 'Johnny B. Goode' by Chuck Berry. "It's hard to separate the film actually from the experience. But .. I loved the 'Johnny B. Goode' scene. It was just, for me, it was [a] fantasy. It was so great," said Fox.
Fox also mentioned that, while his children may not understand all the film's references, he thinks it has a timeless quality that appeals to everyone. "I don't know if they particularly get the cultural references from the Fifties, but what resonates with them is the characters and the action and the sense of fun," he said. "Someone said yesterday that ... it's ironic that a movie about time travel is timeless. It has something for everybody. It's really wonderful to be a part of."
