'Back to the Future' Cast Reunites on 'Today' for 25th Anniversary (VIDEO)

by Donald Deane, posted Oct 26th 2010 2:15PM
The cast of 'Back to the Future' reunited on 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM ET on NBC) in honor of the movie's 25th anniversary, and recalled moments while filming the 1985 classic. Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson, Mary Steenburgen, director Robert Zemeckis and Huey Lewis, who sang 'The Power of Love' from the film's soundtrack, were all on hand.

When asked to describe his favorite scene from the movie, Fox cited the moment where his character plays a raucous version of 'Johnny B. Goode' by Chuck Berry. "It's hard to separate the film actually from the experience. But .. I loved the 'Johnny B. Goode' scene. It was just, for me, it was [a] fantasy. It was so great," said Fox.

Fox also mentioned that, while his children may not understand all the film's references, he thinks it has a timeless quality that appeals to everyone. "I don't know if they particularly get the cultural references from the Fifties, but what resonates with them is the characters and the action and the sense of fun," he said. "Someone said yesterday that ... it's ironic that a movie about time travel is timeless. It has something for everybody. It's really wonderful to be a part of."

Thank you so much for this info - I was trying to find the full-length video after seeing an ad for it and not being able to find it when I came back. :)

I'll disagree with Nate on this one and say that I love reunions! At least, for things I care about, such as this.

Once again, instead of posting a video available on the NBC site in full-length, TV Replay has posted a truncated 2-minute version of an 11-minute interview! It's available here: http://on.today.com/dtnUtO . And it's embeddable! Please stop doing this to me, TV Squad.

Can we please tell the morning news shows to burn and dismember the "exclusive" banners? This is not an exclusive; they already did a reunion thing two weeks ago on CNN and in Entertainment Weekly!

It's become absurd how many things are claimed exclusive but they turn out to be "exclusive" to the 7:10-7:14 timeslot because they were on another network from 7:04-7:08 and then on another from 7:15 -7:19.

Also, reunions? I have been so over them since Entertainment Tonight continued to push "The Big Chill" (aka "Old Hippies Whine for Two Hours About Their Lives After 1975 To The Tune of Motown") for years after everyone else stopped caring.
