Spoilers Anonymous In-Depth: 'Smallville'

This is Spoilers Anonymous In-Depth, a weekly column here at TV Squad where we discuss and give our two cents about recently released spoilers and how they may affect the storylines, shows and fans. This in-depth version of the column goes hand in hand with our weekly spoilers column, in which we supply you with the dirt on some of the more popular shows on the air.
This week, we discuss spoilers recently released for the upcoming episodes of 'Smallville.'
In the Nov. 5 episode, General Lane and Lucy Lane drop by just in time for Thanksgiving. However, the General is not only there to visit daughter Lois, but also to pass a vigilante registration law.
Family members are always welcome in my book as they usually bring with them tidbits of info -- sometimes embarrassing stories -- about the characters we love. The fact that the General wants a vigilante registration law passed will be icing on the cake since it will put Lois between a rock and a hard place -- siding with either her father or Clark. Not an easy decision. It will also be interesting to see how Clark reacts to the General's plan.
In the Nov. 12 episode, Teri Hatcher from 'Desperate Housewives' guest stars as Ella Lane, Lois' mother, who'll be seen in a video made prior to her death. Watching this video will prompt Lois to make an important decision about her relationship with Clark. She will even end up in the Fortress, where she'll face Jor-El (played by Julian Sands) and Lara (played by Helen Slater).
'Smallville' has done a great job of getting cast members from 'Superman' movies or television series to guest star on the show. Not only did they convince ABC to free up Teri Hatcher from her 'Desperate Housewives' duties to appear on another network's show, but they cast her in a role linked to her character on 'Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.' This makes her guest appearance that much cooler -- she played Lois on 'Lois & Clark' and now she'll play Lois' mother on 'Smallville.' Her performance as Ella Lane is said to be a tearjerker ... after all, the video footage is of Ella taping various messages after she learned she would soon die. Awww ....
In an upcoming episode, Clark will visit an alternate Earth where the Clark of this world has been raised by someone else than the Kents.
I loved the TV series 'Sliders' where the characters traveled to a different Earth each week. It was quite entertaining to discover how this weekly Earth differed from their original one and how their alternates lived their lives. I expect that this special 'Smallville' episode will be as entertaining especially if Lionel Luthor is the one who ended up raising Clark! If that theory is true, will Lionel have exploited Clark's powers all his life for profit?! How will being raised by someone else than the Kents affect Clark's powers ... maybe he didn't develop them as much as "our" Clark? Or maybe he can already fly? The possibilities are endless! Have a theory? Share it in comments below!
'Smallville' airs Fridays at 8PM ET on The CW.
