Chris Matthews Makes Chuck Todd Visibly Uncomfortable By Declaring MSNBC Is For Democratic Voters (VIDEO)

by Jeremy Taylor, posted Oct 27th 2010 4:57PM
On Hardball With Chris Matthews,' (weekdays, 5 PM ET on MSNBC) Matthews made an observation about the political affiliation of most MSNBC viewers which made fellow MSNBC pundit Chuck Todd appear visibly uncomfortable.

It was during a discussion of how to watch next Tuesday's mid-term election, and Todd had made the point if the Democrats win the West Virginia Senate race, which should be called by nine o'clock, it means the GOP has almost no chance of taking over the Senate.

"You might be in a very good mood by nine o'clock if you're a Democrat watching MSNBC," Matthews proclaimed. "Which you will be (watching) if you're a Democrat. Just a guess."

"Is that right," Todd said, lowering his voice an octave and looking down sheepishly.

That MSNBC's viewership is made up mostly of those who lean left is a pretty non-controversial statement of fact. Why Todd seemed uneasy with it being verbalized probably reflects the feelings of a lot political analysts about this increasing polarization of media.
