Robert Downey Jr. Can't Help But Take His Character Work Home With Him (VIDEO)

Robert Downey Jr. was on 'Live With Regis and Kelly' (weekdays, 9 AM on ABC) today and shared that when he's shooting a movie, he can't help but take his character home with him, something his wife often makes fun of him for. When Downey's doing a movie, he embodies the character, on-set and off. Over the course of shooting 'Iron Man,' for example, he's prone to thinking that he's the strongest guy in the room (and his regular martial arts regimen may mean that that's not so far off from the truth.) While shooting 'Sherlock Holmes,' Downey begins to believe his intelligence in unparalleled. Fortunately his wife, film producer Susan Downey, has a way of keeping his ego in check.
"She just says, oh my god, you're doing another 'Iron Man' movie, it's disgusting to watch you think you're Tony Stark," his wife will tell him, jokingly.
"If you're perfectly balanced, that sort of garbage doesn't happen," Downey explained, digesting his own penchant for delusion. "But I still struggle now and again."
