Tyler Perry's Pilot License Helped Conquer Fear of Flying (VIDEO)
by Aimee Deeken, posted Nov 2nd 2010 10:00AM
Craig Ferguson and Tyler Perry both tackled a fear of flying with more flying -- specifically, learning to fly airplanes themselves."I started with the [radio-controlled] planes, and I realized that ... the wind's bouncing [and] throwing them around but they don't fall out of the sky," Perry explained on 'The Late Late Show' (weeknights, 12:37AM ET on CBS). "So that let me understand turbulence."
"Was it turbulence that bothered you?" asked Ferguson.
"It was crashing that bothered me," he deadpanned.
Now each has a private pilot's license. But Ferguson admitted it can still be a slightly unnerving experience. Perry suggested the host bring his trusty harmonica and snake mug with him on flights. Ferguson grabbed the mug and began playing a harmonica tune, but realized that wouldn't "inspire confidence in your passengers."
