On 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated),
Joy Behar calls Steve Kroft of '60 Minutes' "elitist" and "sexist" for suggesting that President Barack Obama's talk show appearances are somehow "demeaning" and "unpresidential."
Behar defends Obama's past appearances on 'The View' and lashes out at Kroft for his comments. "I think it was rather elitist of Steve Kroft to say it's demeaning to be on 'The View,'" she said. "'The View' is a show that appeals to women and I think it's a little sexist."
"He wasn't just talking about us, Joy," Barbara Walters points out. "He was talking about a lot of programs that are not the so-called hard news programs like '60 Minutes.'"
But Behar sticks to her guns. "I don't care which show he's talking about," she said. "It's elitism to say that he can only be on '60 Minutes' or 'Meet the Press.' We are the electorate. We vote for the man."
