Denzel Washington Loses Oscar, Steals Shrimp as Consolation (VIDEO)

How does a megastar like Denzel Washington make himself feel better after losing a coveted award like the Oscar? Stealing! On 'Live With Regis and Kelly' (weekdays, syndicated), Washington said he helped himself to a tray of shrimp after failing to win a 1999 nomination for Best Actor.

"The one year I didn't win, it was for 'The Hurricane.' As I left the theater, we were heading toward the parking [lot] where they had the cars, and it was the back of the tent for the Governor's Ball where they make the food. So, they had all these big trays of shrimp. I'm like, 'Alright, I didn't win the award, but I'm taking home some [shrimp],'" he said.

I worked as an extra in the film industry and all left over food gets thrown away so it is a good thing he took it home. Why make a bid deal out of this people???

You see a guy dressed like that helping himself to a tray of shrimp, you figure he's got the right to be there. I bet that's what the help there thought when they saw him make off with the tray of shrimp. If I'd been there, I'd have offered to carry the tray for him.

I love Denzel. He's a great actor and he's very personable. I would have done the same thing in his shoes! He's also funny. I'd like to see him in a comedy.
