Kanye West Apologizes to George W. Bush for Calling Him a Racist (VIDEO)

by Donald Deane, posted Nov 10th 2010 12:45PM
On 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM ET on NBC), Matt Lauer plays a taped segment in which Kanye West apologizes to George W. Bush for famously stating after Hurricane Katrina that "he doesn't care about black people."

West says he spoke out-of-turn during an emotional moment and regrets his choice of words. "I would tell George Bush, in my moment of frustration, I didn't have the grounds to call him a racist," he said. "But I believe that, in a situation of high emotion like that, we as human beings don't always choose the right words."

In his full interview with Lauer, Bush said he "appreciates" the rapper's apology and forgives him. He does, however, reiterate that West's comments troubled him, especially because "nobody wants to be called a racist if, in your heart, you believe in equality of race."

We need to get the hell over ourselves. Its just plain greed that got us in most of this mess. We want everything all the damn time, whether we work for it or not. To many jobs outsourced because stock holders have the right to make BIG bucks, but I have not right to raise hell because where I live the electric company, the water company and the gas company want to raise the rates at the same time. Who can afford anything? Food is the last think I buy every week. School lunch $2.00 a day for my child. Packing the lunch not always practical. school won't provide a proper place to keep it or heat it. Marvin Gaye said "This Ain't Living"

It looks like I'll have to be one the first to say that was a nice thing to do. And it was nice of Bush to acknowledge that his policies were largely responsible for the shape of our economy. What I can't understand is why Republicans are still arguing against what President Bush has apologized for. You guys sure get your news late. Did you miss Oprah or the Matt Lauer interviews? Did Faux and fiends deliver an interview without the apologies? Now hurry, buy that book. President bush needs to make more money off of you. Even he refuses to be outdone by a ding-a-ling like Sarah.

AOL shame on you. You jump from DWTS to Oprah, Beck, and now Bush. You are trying to keep your numbers up by enticing us to sit and wirte comments all day. This is beneath PC journalism, if you want surveys pay for them. Don't excuse what you are presenting as news worthy.

Has everyone forgotten about the surplus we had in our treasury before Bush/Cheney took us into an illegal war? Now the USA is broke and China owns us. No wonder we have to take China's shoddy exports. What about all our troops' deaths and the deaths of countless civilians that would not have happened if we didn't illegally invade Iraq. People sure have short memories.

Hey,it wasn't JUST Bush who let our economy down, let's face it, it was a build up from 1 President to the next up to today. They all had their hands in it.So stop blaming just Bush. We need to get rid of the Democrats, Republicans,& all other parties and elect a TEAM ! People who's background is what we need advice in and people who WILL work together.Oh, & I forgot one thing, They need to ALL be honest. We don't need Democrats fighting the Republicans,& vice versa. They act like children. We need a TEAM.And please, get Pelosi out of there as fast as possible.I'm begging you.

Don't you all see this is just another ploy for Kanye to try and get some positive press his way. He figured out that most everyone hates him for the Bush comment and what he did to Taylor. They are not buying his records, he is just "trying" to make himself look like a real human being.....too late, Kanye.... On a side note....Bush was a great president!!
