Denzel Washington Talks Being a Garbage Man and Parenting Adult Kids (VIDEO)

When Denzel Washington was about 20 years old, he worked as a garbage man, he shared on 'Lopez Tonight' (weeknights, 12AM ET on TBS). The host said the ladies on his route must've thought, "That garbage man is fine as s---." Lopez then jumped on his chair and pretended to hang off the back of a garbage truck. "They'd be making trash," he added.

On a different subject, Lopez asked Washington how he responds to guys that want to date his two college-age daughters. "Well, like a friend of mine said, you come to the door in your underwear first ... mess up your hair. And you tell the boy, 'Look, I got a shovel and a shotgun. I don't mind using either one, or both.' You know, just act crazy." But Washington tends to parent his two sons differently than the daughters.

"With your sons, you're like, 'That's my boy, go get 'em!'" said the actor. "But [with] the girl, you're like, 'You did what?!'" Hmm, kinda sounds like that ol' boys-will-be-boys double standard.
