Stephen Colbert Unleashes His New Sarah Palin-Inspired Opening Credits (VIDEO)

On the new 'Colbert Report' (weeknights, 11:30PM ET on Comedy Central), the host unleashed his new opening credit sequence, inspired by 'Sarah Palin's Alaska.' Sure, it's a calculated ploy on his part to shore up his conservative support, win over the Tea Partiers, and gain ground in the "Red States." ... But on the other hand -- fishing! Deer! Mountains! Explosions! Symbolic bald eagles! Machine guns!
And so, as Colbert says, it's time to let this modified intro "off the leash."
In the opening for the newly renamed 'Steven Colbert's Report,' Stephen takes on the great outdoors, and kicks its butt -- as the action is set to the generic sounds of a twanging "Country-esque" score. It's mighty good stuff, you betcha! (As Sarah Palin might say.) ... And truly, doesn't all this violence and nature-y stuff represent what America is really about? The "real America," that is. Not the fake America. Stephen isn't about the faking: He likes to follow through. And he proves this by punching fish, shooting trees ... and blowing up a mountain, or a dam -- we're not sure which. Whatever it is, he blows it up real good.
