'The Biggest Loser': Weakest Link vs. Strongest Heart (VIDEO)
Tonight's 'Biggest Loser' was full of contradictions. On the show (Tue., 8PM ET on NBC), the teams were dissolved, but the Alliance continued. One player deserved elimination, but escaped it once again. What did it all mean?Team gameplay came to an end -- suddenly it was every man and woman for themselves! For the challenge, the players had to balance above a swimming pool. This could represent the "balancing act" some players must pull off. Three guys -- Brendan, Frado and Patrick -- are in an alliance, but will eventually have to turn against each other, as they fight to be the last man standing.
The Alliance survived the challenge; then, Elizabeth Ruiz and Jessica Delfs were on the chopping block.
Amazingly, Elizabeth has been up for elimination seven out of eight times this season. With such a bad record, she should have been heading home tonight. But it wasn't that simple. The Alliance thinks Liz is the weakest link, so they keep voting to keep her on. It's a move designed to reduce the competition against them.
Elizabeth survived yet again, and Jessica was voted off immediately. But somehow, Jess didn't seem very sad to go. When Ali Sweeney announced that Jessica wasn't the Biggest Loser, the contestant shook her head and grinned. "That's fine; that's okay," she said, like she was glad to be leaving. Meanwhile, Liz has been showing a lot of heart this season -- fighting through two dangerous asthma attacks. So maybe she deserved to stay more than Jessica did.
In the end, we had yet another contradiction. Ms. Ruiz may be the weakest link -- but she might also have the strongest heart. What do you think? Should Jess or Liz have gone home tonight?
