Keith Olbermann Brings Back 'Worst Person in the World' Segment' (VIDEO)

by Jeremy Taylor, posted Nov 18th 2010 10:00PM
Keith Olbermann's suspension of his Worst Person in the World segment lasted about two weeks. That's considerably longer than the two day "indefinite" suspension MSNBC slapped Olbermann with after they learned he made unreported political contributions.

As Olbermann explained on 'Countdown With Keith Olbermann' (weeknights, 10PM ET on MSNBC), Worst Person is "new and improved." For one, it has "nicer" music, and, for another, he's calling it the (Not Really) World's Worst -- although the premise is still the same.

"The not really bronze goes to Sen. Jay Rockefeller of West Virginia," Olbermann said, to kick off the festivities. Then he read a statement that Rockefeller recently made:

"There's a little bug inside of me which wants to get the FCC to say to Fox and to MSNBC, 'Out. Off. End. Goodbye.' It would be a big favor to political discourse," Rockefeller had said.

Next Olbermann pointed out, in his snarky way, that the Democratic senator had previously said he was a fan of 'Countdown,' and that the FCC doesn't actually have jurisdiction over cable television.

However, we suspect what was really bugging Olbermann was that Rockefeller equated MSNBC to Fox News. Now that (Not Really) World's Worst is back, drawing that equivalency is a probably a sure fire way to get yourself featured on it.
