The scandal over Amazon.com's sale of the book 'The Pedophile's Guide to Love and Pleasure' is the latest headline getting the 'Law & Order' treatment.Amazon had the book on sale only for its Kindle e-book reader. The online retailer stood by its decision to sell the book before ultimately removing it amid threats of boycotts and widespread public outrage.
'Law & Order: SVU' star Ice-T told AOL's TV Squad exclusively that he was so outraged over the book's existence that he talked to the writers of the show and they agreed to spotlight the story in an upcoming episode.
Ice said he is so passionate about the issue that he engaged in a Twitter war over it.
"A lady on my Twitter hit me up and said, 'Ice, what do you think about this?'" the rapper/actor said. "I went off on it. I was like 'Are you kidding me?' Then people attacked me saying, 'Well, you wrote 'Cop Killer,' it's just free speech.'"
Ice said there's a common misconception about subcultures and the so-called criminal underworld in that every thing flies. "Go talk to a mob boss about touching some kids, he'll probably kill you right there," he said.
"I was outraged abut the pedophile book, we got a lot of people talking about it and the next day Amazon pulled it," he said. "So I talked to the writers today and they said they'd do it. Some person thought it was OK to write about the correct way to be a pedophile. I mean, it's hard to believe. I believe in a free society but some things are just taboo and kids, it's not a good thing."
