There's nothing sweeter than the taste of a delicious dessert. Well, except for the taste of victory -- that's probably sweeter. Luckily, the two came together on the finale of 'Top Chef: Just Desserts' (Wed., 10PM ET on Bravo). The show crowned its first champion -- one player would be walking away with $100,000. Our choices were: series "bad guy" Morgan Wilson, "underdog" Danielle Keene, or "perfectionist" Yigit Pura. Each chef got to create a four-course dessert menu -- there were no rules, no set ingredients. The only limits were the players' imaginations.
And so, our winner was ...
Yigit! The Turkish-born pastry chef created a menu based on the theme of romance and dating, and the judges fell in love with his final entry. It didn't hurt that Danielle never seemed to be seriously in the running. Meanwhile, the aggressive Morgan tried to pull off a soufflé -- the most delicate all desserts. The temperamental chef failed to master the light and airy custard, and the result was a disaster.
Morgan's soufflé fell, while Yigit rose to the top. He got all the money, plus a brand new car. The champion wept, handed out some hugs, and seemed like he didn't believe it all had happened. "This is the most spectacular feeling in the world .. there [are] no words to describe it." Victory -- how sweet it is.
