Sarah Silverman's Thanksgiving Special (VIDEO)

by Ryan McKee, posted Nov 22nd 2010 6:45PM
Sadly, 'The Sarah Silverman Program' is no long with us. That does not mean Silverman will stop delighting, shocking and occasionally disgusting us with her endearingly foul wit. Her latest holiday video on Funny Or Die is a perfect example of just that.

The stand-up comic/actress/writer recalls a Thanksgiving when she was six years old and her well-intentioned father took her to their neighbor's farm to choose a turkey. (A similar version of the story appears in her recent book 'The Bedwetter.') As adults, it's easy to predict the future of whichever turkey young Sarah chose. However, to a child that outcome was not immediately apparent.

Silverman narrates the anecote along to animation by Sascha Ciezata, who is becoming well-known for his low-fi technique of using a iPhone to shoot his productions. Her father, Donald Silverman, also makes an appearance and claims to have no recolllection of such holiday horrors.

The way he remembers thing is a hilarious contrast to his daughter's version of the story. It will definitely get you in the mood for the (hopefully) lighthearted family bickering you'll endure this Thursday.
