Hot dogs are indeed one of the foods most closely associated with the Big Apple. Soap star Cameron Mathison knows this full well and identified them as one of things he misses most about New York City on 'The Wendy Williams Show' (weekdays, syndicated).

So, Wendy Williams brings a hot dog vendor out on stage and promises Mathison a "dirty dog" made with "authentic New York City water." Mathison orders up a dog with the works and, for good measure, Williams promises one to each audience member as well.
