Emily Alyn Lind & Sam Elliott, 'November Christmas'In the best tradition of our favorite holiday films, the newest effort from Hallmark Hall of Fame, 'November Christmas' (Sunday, 9PM ET on CBS) knows how to pull our heartstrings and remind us of the true meaning of the holiday season. It's about family, community, togetherness and most of all love.

In the movie, a little girl is deathly ill, and her family begins to fear she may not make it to the Christmas season. Her story touches first the life of a nearby farmer, Jess Sanford (played by Sam Elliott), and ultimately their entire community. So much so that after a particularly worrisome trip to the hospital a full month before the holidays, everyone comes together to ensure Vanessa (Emily Alyn Lind) can have her Christmas.

Jess goes to visit her in the hospital, where she worries about missing Christmas at home. "I don't like it here," she says. "I don't want to be here for Christmas."

"I have it on good authority that you will be home for Christmas," he tells her with a smile. "I want you to rest up. Be ready to celebrate."

[SPOILER ALERT]
When Vanessa and her family come home from the hospital it's still November, but every house is aglow as if it were Christmas Eve. All of the neighbors are outside, waiting for the family, letting Vanessa know that the spirit of Christmas isn't something that happens only on Dec. 25. It's something that happens in your hearts and with your friends and loved ones. It's a feeling you carry with you and it can come at any time. Sometimes just when it's needed most.

As usual HallMark presented a very moving drama about two families, one lost a boy in a DUI and one losing a child to a disease, who help each other thru a crisis of illness.

Even tho I've never been married and never had kids, this story's tender interactions grab your heart to insure your eyes become moist.

Altho a child can steal the spotlight, the adult actors were so real and ever so brilliant ... they earned the right to be called Stars.
