'Glee's' Chris Colfer Shows Off His Ninja Skills on 'Conan'Actor Chris Colfer can sing and he can dance ... but does he have secret shinobi skills? We'll find out on the latest episode of 'Conan' (weeknights, 11PM ET on TBS). The 'Glee' star showed up and told Conan O'Brien that he had been studying the ancient "art of ... 'ninja.'" The 20-year-old stuttered as he said that last bit, and okay -- that's not the correct term. As Conan pointed out, "ninjutsu" is the actual name for the martial arts that ninja assassins practice.

Conan seemed skeptical about the whole thing already -- and that was before Chris revealed that his training was inspired by ... the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. "Clearly, you've studied this thoroughly," the host quipped. Which would have been okay, him being inspired by a cartoon like that, but then the dangerous stabbing weapons came out. Which is when things got a little more dicey.

Chris uses two sai as his weapon of choice, patterning himself after the Ninja Turtle named "Raphael." (Again with the turtles!) By this point, Conan looked nervous/cautiously optimistic, but then Colfer stood up ... and revealed his dazzling ninja skills! The young actor spun the razor-sharp blades in both hands, whirling them in a seamless hypnotic blur. Everything was going great! And then Chris sat back down again ...

... Where he engaged in a mock-sai fight with Conan -- while failing to notice that sidekick Andy Richter was right behind him. Chris nearly took Andy's eye out. "Oh!" he said. "I forgot you were there!" Dude! Part of being a ninja is remaining ever-vigilant.

Sai are not razor sharp... they are round and blunt.

I'm a Glee fan. At first I thought perhaps Chris had studied Taijutsu so I watched curiously to see what he would demonstrate. Then I heard what he said and saw he has no formal training in any martial arts. :( Sad face. Reading Ashida Kim books does not mean you study "Ninjitsu". Tell Chris to hit me up and I can refer him to a good Bujinkan Taijutsu teacher that can help him out. ;)
